A few years ago Cin and I spent Christmastime in the Mississippi Delta. Technically
it’s not a delta but an alluvial plain, said to begin in the lobby of the Peabody Hotel
in Memphis, Tennessee, and end on Catfish Row, in Vicksburg, Mississippi.

Christmas Eve we were in Clarksdale, site of the crossroads where legendary blues
musician Robert Johnson was said to have sold his soul to the devil.

I went there, to the crossroads, that Christmas Eve. It was an amazing, cold, rainy,
windswept evening. I fell to my knees and broke down. It was awful and awesome,
one of the best and worst Christmases I have ever had.

Crossroads, Clarksdale, Mississippi. Christmas Eve

drool will be closed for the hollerdaze. Back January 5th, 2014.

STRAYLIGHT will be open for business throughout the hollerdaze.
